Elite facilities are being equalized for women

Hossein Afshin announced plans to equalize elite facilities for women and men, saying: "A plan similar to alternative military service projects for elite women is being considered to provide equal opportunities for utilizing the potential of female elites in various fields."

According to the Communication and Information Center in the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, a meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Elite Foundation was held at the Foundation with the presence of the Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the Government Spokesperson, and the Vice President of Women's Affairs. In this meeting, topics such as the role of elite women in decision-making in society, fair allocation of budgets between girls and boys, the causes of low participation of women in influential jobs, the removal of individuals with a gender-discriminatory approach from influential positions, and strategies for strengthening families to raise elite girls were discussed and examined.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the emphasis on the necessity of utilizing the capacity of elite women at the highest levels of decision-making in the country. The attendees at the meeting, pointing out the importance of women's role in the development and progress of society, emphasized the need to create equal opportunities for women's active presence and participation in various fields. Also, the issue of fair budget allocation between elite girls and boys was discussed and solutions were presented to eliminate possible discrimination in this regard. The attendees believed that budget allocation should be based on merit and capabilities and no discrimination based on gender should be applied.

The reasons for the low participation of women in influential jobs were also among the other topics discussed in this meeting. The attendees examined the obstacles and challenges facing women in this field and proposed solutions to remove these obstacles and encourage women to be more active in key and influential jobs.

Also in this meeting, a proposal was made to launch a “Center for Gender Justice in Education” to examine and eliminate gender discrimination in the country’s education system, under the supervision of the Presidential Women’s Advisor, to ensure educational justice for girls. This center will strive to provide equal opportunities for education and advancement for all elite Iranian girls.

Efforts to create an alternative military plan for elite women

Hossein Afshin, Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy and Head of the National Elites Foundation, during his speech at the meeting, referring to the extensive facilities of the Elite Foundation intended for men, stated: The Elite Soldier Project is one of the Foundation's selected projects, and almost all elite men have used these facilities.

Pointing out that the Foundation seeks to create similar opportunities for elite women, he added: We are trying to create a project for women to eliminate the problems and obstacles facing them and create equal opportunities to exploit the country's elite capacities.

The Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, also referring to the 107 billion tomans budget of the National Science Foundation, said: "We have decided to increase this budget to 300 billion tomans during this period. Last year, projects were defined for 4,000 faculty members, and we are trying to define 15 billion tomans of projects by the end of this year."

In conclusion, Afshin, referring to the ratio of 60 to 40 female students to male students, emphasized that with greater convergence between the National Elites Foundation and the Vice Presidency of Women's Affairs, greater effectiveness will be achieved in this area.
